Richard Lee Collie, 64, of Malvern passed away May 12, 2015. He was born February 19, 1951 in Malvern to Leesen and Frances (Hodges) Collie. Richard loved the outdoors; his favorite hobbies were hunting, fishing, and cooking. He was a loving person who really took care of his mother for years. He would take her anywhere she wanted to go and they especially loved to go fishing together and go to yard sales. Richard was also a veteran of the United States Army.
Richard is predeceased by his parents and his brother, Jerry Allen Collie.
Richard is survived by his son, Michael Collie of Benton, LA; Michael’s mother, Mary Collie; two sisters, Joann Southworth of Benton, AR and Barbara Sue Kaufman of Little Rock; four grandchildren, Brandon England, Krista Reyna, Shayna Collie, and Garrett Collie; and his two dogs, Tippy and Brownie.
Visitation will be held on Friday May 15, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Prairie Bayou Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Garrett Collie, Mark Southworth, Joel Southworth, Bill Bailey, Steve Lane, and Vincent Turner.
Honorary pallbearers will be the nursing staff at the VA hospital in Little Rock.
